My Story

I began my career as a sign language interpreter and I have a BS in interpreter training from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania.  For 14 years I interpreted for the Deaf in a wide variety of settings from state and federal institutions to being an on-call interpreter for 28 deaf employees at a defense agency.  I absolutely loved my job, but after dealing with chronic repetitive stress injuries for several years, I eventually had to make the tough decision to leave the field.

What came next for me was a mix of opportunities.  My time was split between being a stay-at-home mom to two girls and working on my photography business.  Then when my husband's start-up company, Sqord, needed photography services for their marketing and branding, I coordinated photography shoots to get the authentic imagery they needed. I had so much fun working with the kids and their parents and became really interested in the user experience side of things and worked with Sqord on quite a few different projects.   Sqord moved us to Seattle, WA  for one year and I continued to work with Sqord and build my photography business on the west coast.  When we moved back to Apex, NC  my husband founded a web application business, Lineweight.  I provided photography services for his clients and became involved with project management.  I provided site testing, copy editing, and wrote help content and created user flows of existing sites.  I also managed the Lineweight office at the American Underground in Durham.

More recently, I have been working in the school photography world at Lifetouch, Shutterfly Inc.  I was initially hired as a Production Specialist, in the Prestige Senior Department. I was responsible for managing all of our senior portrait school accounts (N-Z) for the entire southeast region of the US.  When that portion of the company was sold, I was promoted to an Account Specialist role.  I am currently responsible for 100 + accounts and manage everything from resigning agreements, to scheduling of picture days, to post picture issue resolution.

Some other interesting things to know about me are that I still love photography and spending time behind my camera! I also enjoy (in no particular order), to spend time with my family (ok, maybe there is a particular order), game nights, movie nights, scrapbooking, walking, hiking, reading, painting, going to the beach and playing grumpy rummy.  I also, love visiting the Endless Mountains in Pennsylvania, where I grew up. And most proudly, I am mom to an ECU Pirate (Freshman) and AFHS Patriot (Senior).  And a human to two cats and a dog.

I’m also an extrovert and I love to meet new people, so if you want to grab a cup of coffee (or in my case a frappe) and talk, please reach out!

My Work

Lifetouch, Shutterfly Inc.

I am currently employed at Lifetouch. When I was first hired, I was responsible for all Senior Portrait events in the Southwest region of the United States.  My responsibilities included, creating/tracking senior portrait events, creating/ordering portrait marketing materials to be processed and shipped on a timely schedule, creating schedules for seniors to sign up, being on point for Sales Reps and Account Specialists for any issues that arise, and providing great customer service support for schools, parents, and seniors.

In the fall of 2026, when Lifetouch sold the Prestige Portraits part of the company, I was promoted to an Account Specialist position.  I am responsible for 100+ school accounts. This is a fast-paced cross functional role coordinating between my school/district accounts, customers, sales reps, production team, and photo team. My job responsibilities encompass processes management from inside sales, to scheduling of school photography events, to client and customer support both pre and post picture day.

Lineweight

As I worked with Lineweight, I got more of a taste for what user experience was on the front end of web sites. I have a sharp eye for mistakes and provided user feedback and copy editing.  I conducted user testing to provide quality assurance, wrote help content,  created user flows, corporate photography, and was responsible for office management.

Sqord

Working with Sqord was the first time I was really exposed to the world of user experience and most of it was on the product end by working with kids and their parents during photo shoots and during product testing with kids.

Becky Wright Photography

Photography has always been a passion of mine.  I have done portrait, stock and corporate photography.  Although, I am no longer providing professional photography services, it will always be a hobby of mine.  I've sold over 3,000 images on stock sites.  Feel free to check out my portfolios below:

Health Portal Messaging System (A Speculative Redesign)

After witnessing my dad's frustration with his health portal messaging system and my own personal frustrations, I knew the user experience of these sites didn't have to be that redundant and overwhelming.  I decided to take a closer look at my own health portal to come up with a speculative redesign.
